Shelved Drums

For over 25 years, Brandywine has provided hazard communication labels, printers and software to clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical and petrochemical marketplace under the descriptive Brandywine Drumlabels, LLC.

By concentrating our focus on regulatory compliance chemical product labeling, Brandywine has been able to engineer unique label designs and constructions that run effortlessly through your laser, inkjet or thermal printers for both hand and auto-application.

Technology, specifically the digital revolution in label printing, has led to a transformation from Brandywine Drumlabels to Brandywine Label Printing. Company History

In 1995, Brandywine’s founders recognized that there are complex requirements and challenges to labeling chemical products that other companies had yet to address, and saw an opportunity developing a new line of label products to meet those needs.

Since then, the company has become a globally recognized industry leader in the chemical label printing marketplace, with over 1,300 client sites in 50+ countries.

At the end of 2020, Brandywine became a wholly owned subsidiary of Wausau Coated Products, Brandywine’s largest material supplier. According to Chris Campbell, President, and CEO of Brandywine, “We see our new partnership through an exciting and optimistic lens. Although it will not affect the way we do business with our customers, it will enable us to offer them a broader selection of laser and inkjet label materials and allow our momentum and growth to continue by strengthening our ability to market our products.”

In October 1997 we were awarded our first patent for our Twin-Tag® line of products. By December of 1999 we received our second patent – for the flagship Poly-Twin® family of label products. This and a growing list of satisfied customers cemented the company’s value and we continued to focus exclusively on regulatory compliance labeling.

Understanding the possibilities presented by full print-on-demand printing platforms, we established Brandywine Drumlabels LLC and embarked on the journey of crafting a solution to each component of labeling in the chemical industry: labels, software and hardware. With a proven line of laser printable polyester labels serving as the “first leg of the stool,” we then introduced a labeling software suite along with computer hardware to complete the other two legs. Though originally designing for monochrome laser and thermal printers available at the time, the business took off with the introduction of color laser and inkjet printers. These technological breakthroughs worked flawlessly with our Poly-Twin® line of products and inspired the founders to create full-fledged print-on-demand platforms for our industrial chemical clients.

When the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standards were put in place in 2013, Brandywine was in a unique position to assist our clients with implementation of full color print-on-demand platforms. We initially assisted European Union countries with the introduction of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) standards and continued throughout the Asia Pacific region. By the time the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) adopted GHS standards in 2015, Brandywine Drumlabels had become synonymous with high quality labeling solutions for the chemical packaging industry.

Fast forward to the present and the evolution of faster and more reliable full color digital printers, coupled with Wausau Coated’s industry-leading label coating technology, allows Brandywine to provide our customers with best-in-class industrial and consumer products labeling solutions. Our foundation of powerful, easy to use label design software, high quality, high speed color printers and durable and attractive label media has never been stronger!
